Creative people are those, who transform a piece of paper, canvas or another underpainting into a work of art using shapes and colours or colour combinations. They allow others to see their visions. Does the artist ever sleep? That we do not know. However, we do know some key information about the Swiss artist:

MINO was born in Lucerne in 1967, completed several art courses and specialised in stone lithographic and serigraphic techniques at the University of Design under Pirmin Jost. In addition, he even found time to learn how to do oil paintings and silhouettes. Since 1992, MINO’s works have been open to the interested public; a solo exhibition marked the beginning at an artists forum in Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich.


MINO’s studio gallery is situated in Knonaueramt, a beautiful idyllic little place in Knonaueramt, surrounded by old half-timbered houses, horses, flowers and meadows. If a Säuliämtler resident is asked where his home is, he only has to explain it is near the Seleger Moor and then most people say: “Ah, I’ve been there”. The artist has worked hard for his well-deserved reputation in the national and international art scene and if you do not come across him in newspaper articles, then a visit to his homepage minoart.ch is recommended or contact him in person – at best send an email to mino@minoart.ch.

Free in the structure of art policy, MINO is dedicated to oil painting. Light and colour are very important to him. Colours create positive vibrations and calm the body.
The scientific consideration of sight makes us aware of the wonderful basic fact that each person has their own, self-made image of the world. Again and again we are told that art above all provides an escape from reality. Since the artist does not like the practical concerns of everyday life, he avoids actively dealing with them and instead prefers to make himself at home in a fantasy world where he is spared such impositions.

The artist in his own words…
“Sensually, visually, I accept the world, interpret impressions according to my experiences, I intuitively try to ignore the rules of colour and shape. I construct my pictures – that I practiced in nature studies. I work in a disciplined manner; after years I suddenly pull out an old picture, paint over it, change it, even though it seemed finished and good to me at that time.”

Kreative Menschen sind es, die ein Papier, eine Leinwand oder einen anderen Malgrund mit Formen, Farben oder Farbkombinationen in ein Kunst-Werk verwandeln. Sie machen ihre Visionen für andere sichtbar. Ob der Künstler überhaupt schläft? Wir wissen es nicht. Sehr wohl wissen wir allerdings einige Eckdaten des Schweizer- Künstlers:
MINO wurde 1967 in Luzern geboren, absolvierte einige Studiengänge in der Kunst und spezialisierte sich an der Hochschule für Gestaltung bei Pirmin Jost auf die Technik der Steinlithographien und Siebdrucke. Nebenbei hat er auch noch Zeit gefunden, um sich der Oelmalerei und Scherenschnitte anzueignen. Seit 1992 sind MINOs Arbeiten der interessierten Oeffentlichkeit zugänglich; den Beginn machte eine Einzelausstellung in einem Kunstforum der Bahnhofstrasse in Zürich.
MINOs Galerie-Atelier befindet sich im Knonaueramt einem wunderschönen idyllischen Oertchen, im Knonaueramt umgeben von alten Riegelhäuser, Pferde,Blumen und Wiesen. Wenn ein Säuliämtler gefragt wird, wo denn sein Wohnort liege, so muss er nur erklären, er befinde sich ganz in der Nähe des Selegermoors, und die meisten Leute sagen dann:“ Aha, da bin ich ja auch einmal gewesen.“ Der Künstler hat sich bereits seinen verdient guten Ruf in der nationalen und internationalen Kunstszene erarbeitet; und wenn man nicht in Zeitungsartikeln über ihn stolpert, so empfiehlt es sich ein Besuch auf seiner Homepage, oder man nimmt mit dem Künstler persönlich Kontakt auf.
