I was born in April 1963 in Ilmenau, Thuringia. Since 1992, I have lived in Cologne. I finished my education as an industrial clerk in 1981 and worked in that field for years, but my real passion from early childhood has always been art. To this end, I followed a course of studies for Free Drawing and Sketching taught by Prof. Ernst Zirnig (NIG) from 1990 until 1993 at the college of Darmstadt. I continued with art as well as my profession for the next ten years. In March 2003, I finally decided to devote myself to my artwork completely which I always considered to be my calling. Since then, I have been working as a freelance artist and been a member of the International Arts Group “K18” and Kunst-Forum International Switzerland. In 2005 and 2007 I got the “Special Distinction Award” on International Art Biennale Malta. In my work, I try to capture the beauty, the incredible perfection and variety, as well as the eternal joy of all natural ways of life. I wish that we could again notice and realize the goodness by which we are continuously surrounded. We could thus gain strength, courage, joy and consolation from this source which ought to be preserved and protected and not ignored.
